Stellenbosch and Franshoek Wine Districts

Our last full day in South Africa was spent touring the wine districts. The wines were fine but not fabulous however the scenery was magnificent, especially around Franshoek.

Amazing gourmet lunch in a gorgeous setting.

Touring the Cape

We spent a day touring the cape. The drive is very scenic with lots of interesting stops along the way. Here are some pictures:

We drove down the Atlantic (east side) of the peninsula

Hout Bay - where we boarded a boat to visit the Cape Fur Seal Colony

It was quite cold and windy and the boat was pitching around a lot

In the hills on the other side of the road from Hout Bay, someone had build a castle

Entertainers greeting us on our return.

Chapman's Peak Drive - the scenery was spectacular

Cape of Good Hope

Cape Point

At Cape Point, the view to the left is the Atlantic Ocean and the view to the right is the Indian Ocean

We had a wonderful lunch at Cape Point. The restaurant was appropriately called Two Oceans and the food was as good as the view which was amazing

The penguins are in the Indian Ocean

Those black spots in the water are a group of penguins coming into shore

and here they are.....
